This 1997 BMW M3 (E36) was delivered new in Dallas, Texas in November of 1996 with 42 miles on the odometer. That original owner sold the car to the second owner in October of 1998 (when the car had 14,807 miles). That second owner originally used the M3 as a road car. He then developed the car extensively for racing/track days in 2007 with around 86,000 miles. The M3 has all original body panels and it is in very good condition. Both owners took excellent care of this M3 and it has been maintained to a very high standard.
Included in the sale are two sets of wheels along with many race spares (new brake rotors, brake pads, service manual, wheel bearings, fuel pump, AIM data acquisition system with Smarty Cam) and a ton of original M3 parts (removed when the car was built for track use in 2007).
This M3 is fully sorted and is an excellent track, race, or DE car. It is not a pieced-together tuner car, it is developed and setup correctly. It is eligible for NASA GTS3 (very big bonus) and also for BMW Prepared Class. It weighs 2755 pounds. The engine develops 268 hp at the rear-wheels (300+ hp at the crank). The engine is an S52 out of a Z3M (20,000 miles on engine when it was built around 2007). The engine has 8000 miles on it since being built. New Racetech seats, a cool suit, and a new Optima battery were installed last year and have little use. The M3 only has a couple of track weekends over the past two-years and offers an inexpensive option for a buyer compared to building their own car from scratch.
