This 1961 Jaguar 3.8L E-Type Roadster was completed on November 1, 1961 and then imported by Jaguar Cars New York. Its first owner was R.W. Loveland in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It's number 978 of 1,581 flat-floor roadsters produced in left-hand drive (LHD). The exterior was originally finished in Opalescent Dark Green with Suede Green interior and a French Grey top. The current colors of Opalescent Silver Blue/Dark Blue/Dark Blue are a period factory Jaguar configuration.

Production of flat-floor E-Types (LHD and RHD, Roadsters and Coupes) totaled 2,616—1,581 being LHD Roadsters. Flat-floor cars were named for their footwell configuration. Later E-Types carry an expanded footwell area.

It was purchased by a local Jaguar collector and client of Fox Motorsports out of a private collection in Minnesota in January of 2015. That Minnesota owner had recently completed a comprehensive, show-quality restoration of the body and interior of the car including thorough engine detailing—plating, paint, etc (records on file). Upon arrival in Michigan, a full inspection revealed a beautiful car needing mechanical sorting (see below full work list).

This early Jaguar E-Type is stunning in its current factory color combination. The body work and paint are finished to a high standard, complimented by equally impressive chrome trim. The interior is also excellent. With the recent mechanical improvements, this E-Type is now a beautiful, well-sorted example ready to show or drive.

Included with the car: Jaguar Heritage Certificate, two sets of carpeted floor mats (one for show), cockpit tonneau cover, boot cover, tool roll and tools, original "Shelley" jack, car cover, show presentation board, owners handbook in original pouch, and front license plate bracket assembly.
