This 2000 BMW 528i Sport Wagon was delivered new on January 12, 2000 at Princeton BMW in Princeton, New Jersey. The original MSRP was $48,850. That original owner took meticulous care of the car since new and the records—as well as the condition of the car—confirm that attention to detail. All service was done to exact BMW specs from new and all the records are included. It had a full New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Vehicle Inspection earlier this year. The owner kept the original Car and Driver comparison test from the June 1999 issues (where the 528i finished first) as well as the original BMW sales brochure for the car.

Upon arrival at Fox Motorsports, we inspected the 528i and took it on a 200-mile road trip. The car ran perfectly, with no issues. The car returned close to 30 mpg at a steady 80 mph cruise. Everything works. This 528i Sport Wagon proves the theory that proper care, service, and maintenance is more important than low miles on a BMW.

This is an extremely clean and well cared for 528i wagon. You will not find an example with better pedigree and service history. The 528i features the powerful and fuel efficient 3.0-liter M52 engine and rare 5-speed manual gearbox. The inline-6 is smooth and powerful yet can return 30 mpg on the highway. The exterior is in very good condition, with only minor stone chips. The car is rust free. The seats and the rest of the interior are in very good condition, with only minor wear. There are no interior display issues (typical E39 issue). The 17-inch OEM BMW BBS wheels were just refinished and the all-season tires (Continental ContiProContact, 235/45WR-17) are in excellent condition. Fox Motorsports also had the rear tailgate repaired and refinished due to two small, dime-sized rust spots in the corners, just below the glass (a very common E39 wagon issue). We like the clean look of no rear badging, so we did not fit a new “528i” badge to the car. This BMW is a well-speced example (see below full options list). Included are all the original keys, books, records, floor mats, rear cargo net/cover, and the original sales brochure/road test.
