This 2009 Shelby GT500KR was delivered new at Fox Ford in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 18, 2009. It has been serviced and maintained from new by the original owner and is in excellent condition. It has been stored winters in a climate-controlled building/on a trickle charger and has never seen snow/salt. The original Goodyear tires are in excellent condition. Included are both sets of keys, all books, and the original brake cooling kit (never installed).
The Shelby GT500 KR is a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Shelby Automotive. There are a total of 1571 cars built over the 2008 and 2009 model years (1000 in 2008 and 571 in 2009). The cars are modified to Shelby specs (Shelby GT500KR add $35,665 to the price) including carbon fiber components, GT500KR exhaust, wheels/tires, engine detailing, brake ducting kit, interior detailing, and a full Ford Racing suspension (sway bars, dampers, strut-tower brace, and springs).
The supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine develops 540 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. It features unique ECU calibration and a cold air intake, as well as specific GT500KR exhaust tuning/components. The Shelby GT500KR also features a 3.73 limited-slip rear end. The result is a much better handling, sounding, and accelerating car. The upgraded supercharged V8 results in a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a ¼ mile time of 12.1 seconds. The suspension upgrades make the Shelby handle far better, with less understeer.
